The West Mamprusi district is among other districts in the Northern region to benefit from mass spraying of mosquetoes aimed at malaria prevention. The exercise is to be undertaken jointly by the Ghana Health Services and USAID. The District Director of Health Services, Dr Ali recently briefed Heads of decentralised departments and leaders of identifiable groups on the exercise in Walewale, the district capital.
As at now, persons recruited to carry out the spraying exercise are undergoing training. Every house in the district is expected to be covered excerpt public places like schools.The chemical to be used has the potency to last on the wall for six months before the next round of spraying.

D C E commission`s Teachers Quaters at Zanwara

The D C E for the West Mamprusi District,Hon Nabla Sulemana has commissioned a six bed room teacher`s quarters at Zanwara in the "Overseas" area of the West Mamprusi District.The project was constructed from the assembly`s share of the common fund and constructed by Bazaah construction company.Also present at the handing over ceremony was the District Director of education Veronica Adzato-Ntem(Mrs).The education director charged her teachers to take good care of the facilaty.
The Regent of the Zanwara community expressed gratitude to the N P P government for providing a school structure and the teachers quarters to the community.The regent added that the current administration is the first to extend any facility to them since independence.He again made an appeal for the reshaping and resurfacing of the road from Kubori to Zanwara.
